Bryan Rasmussen

Bryan Rasmussen is an Assistant Director at the Energy Systems Laboratory (ESL) and an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Texas A&M University. He is a recognized expert in modeling and control of building energy systems, with over $2.5 million in research funding from federal agencies, industry, and technical organizations. His work has been recognized with prestigious honors including the NSF CAREER Award and the ASHRAE Young Investigator Award. He currently serves as Director of the Industrial Assessment Center (IAC), where students are trained to perform no-cost energy audits for regional manufacturers. The program has completed over 600 audits, trained more than 220 students, and generated recommendations exceeding $59 million in annual savings, with about $32 million realized through implementation.
Dr. Rasmussen earned his B.S. from Utah State University and his M.S. and Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a registered Professional Engineer and an active member of organizations including ASHRAE, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and American Society for Engineering Education.
