CALL FOR POSTER ABSTRACTS

Abstract submission deadline: May 9th, 2026.

The Industrial Energy Technology Conference invites students to submit poster abstracts for consideration in the areas listed below.

Poster Topic Areas Include:

Energy Efficiency & Plant Optimization

  • Steam systems, boilers, and heat recovery

  • Motor, pump, evaporation, refrigeration, and fan system optimization

  • Process/distillation optimization and equipment upgrades

  • Grid integration of large load and data center power and cooling systems

  • Utility demand response programs for industrial and generation programs

  • Risk mitigation strategies 

  • Maintenance planning and response

  • Economic analysis such as IRR or ROI valuation for budget allocation 

Onsite Energy Strategies

  • Electrification of industrial processes

  • Industrial heat pumps and thermal systems

  • Alternative fuels: renewables, hydrogen, nuclear

  • Energy storage

  • Reliability and resilience strategies

Data, Digitalization & Controls

  • Advanced controls and automation

  • Industrial artificial intelligence/machine learning applications

  • Digital twins for process analysis, optimization, and predictive analytics

Water–Energy Nexus

  • Integrated process water, steam condensate, and energy efficiency

  • Wastewater treatment & CHP opportunities

Submission Guidelines

  • Maximum 250 words

    Clearly state the problem, approach, results, and value to industry.

    Poster abstracts will be accepted from undergraduate and graduate students and may be the combined work of multiple authors.

    Poster abstracts must be submitted by May 9th, 2026 for consideration in the poster competition.

    The final poster can include graphics, photographs, charts and or engaging text. Posters should be designed 30" wide by 40" tall in size. All posters should be the original research and design of the author(s). Final posters must be submitted in PDF format to Angie Rowell by May 13th, 2026 at arowell@tamu.edu.

    Each student that has a poster accepted in the competition is expected to be in attendance at the IETC and Networking Reception on Wednesday May 20th, 2026 at 6:00PM to present their posters to judges and attendees.

    Accepted posters will be printed/mounted by the ESL staff.
