Meet
David Claridge
R&D Staff Member, ORNL
Dr. Claridge is an internationally recognized expert in building energy efficiency and commissioning, known for leading the development and implementation of the Continuous Commissioning® process over the past two decades. His work has been applied to hundreds of large facilities, including universities, military bases, hospitals, and commercial buildings. He has made significant contributions to heat transfer analysis, building air leakage, and measurement and verification techniques for energy savings. With over 400 publications and 12 patents, Dr. Claridge has also led more than $45 million in research projects and mentored dozens of graduate students. Before joining Texas A&M University in 1986, he gained extensive experience in the HVAC industry.
A Fellow of both American Society of Mechanical Engineers and ASHRAE, he has held numerous leadership roles, including President of the ASHRAE College of Fellows and Technical Chair of major ASHRAE conferences. He continues to be a prominent contributor to the global energy and building performance community.
